DriveScale Named a Finalist in the 2018 CRN® Tech Innovator Awards

DriveScale’s Composable Infrastructure Platform Recognized in the 2018 Data Center Infrastructure Category

SUNNYVALE, Calif. – November 12, 2018 –  DriveScale, the leader in delivering Composable Infrastructure for data-intensive workloads and a 2018 Cool Vendor by Gartner for Cloud Infrastructure, today announced that CRN,® a brand of The Channel Company, has recognized DriveScale as a finalist in the 2018 CRN Tech Innovator Awards. These annual awards honor stand-out hardware, software, and services that are moving the IT industry forward. In compiling the 2018 Tech Innovator Award list, CRN editors evaluated 300 products across 34 technology categories using several criteria, including technological advancements, uniqueness of features and potential to help solution providers solve end users’ IT challenges. The DriveScale Composable Platform took top honors in the Data Center Infrastructure category.

DriveScale’s Composable Infrastructure solution allows IT managers to compose pools of compute and storage resources into high performance and agile infrastructure clusters on demand through a simple, automated interface. The platform uniquely optimizes the ratio of compute and storage resources while providing cloud-like scale, increased deployment speed and lower cost. This composability eliminates over-provisioning and allows for resource re-usability as workload needs change. The latest DriveScale breakthrough adds composable flash storage to the company’s solution. Composing flash storage into the right ratio for each application makes it affordable and flexible for cloud infrastructures and modern applications such as NoSQL, Spark and Kubernetes. The addition of flash helps enterprises solve the over-provisioning, inflexibility and lifecycle management issues that plague IT teams deploying flash-based applications. DriveScale’s flash solution uses NVMe over Fabrics and is one of the first in the industry to support this new protocol.

“We are honored to be named a CRN Tech Innovator finalist, alongside some of the top companies in Silicon Valley,” said Gene Banman, CEO at DriveScale. “This recognition is a true validation of the need for composable infrastructure in the enterprise and a testament to everyone on the DriveScale team who has contributed to building a comprehensive solution that addresses the challenges data centers face when managing modern workloads. We look forward to continuing to innovate and provide customers with the best possible infrastructure for their needs.”

“Each year, the CRN Tech Innovator Awards recognize technology vendor offerings that are reshaping the IT channel landscape by increasing worker productivity, reducing cost, and minimizing complexity for solution providers, IT departments, and end users,” said Bob Skelley, CEO of The Channel Company. “The winners in this year’s awards bring breakthrough ideas to the table for solution providers and their customers, in areas ranging from cloud to security to business intelligence to IoT. We congratulate all the winners and look forward to their future endeavors.”

The Tech Innovator Awards will be featured in the December issue of CRN and can be viewed online at
